WELCOME TO LATEX LAND!
Photographers Gil Perron and Martin Perreault
create a world where latex is king!
Montreal, Thursday, April 19, 2007 – Photographers Gil Perron and Martin Perreault are proud to present their latest project, LATEX LAND, a series of photographs that will portray a parallel reality where latex is de rigeur. It’s a photographic world created for the people who wear and love latex and each photo will feature an intriguing yet simple twist.
LATEX LAND was shot on location during the weekend of June 15th.2007. Each photo features between 3 to 40 models set in a parallel reality populated by colourful fetishists dressed in latex from head to toe, performing regular activities. Working with TRUE latex lovers as opposed to established models will bring a sense of realism that only true-believers can deliver!
Project Latex Land (PLL) is the brainchild of photographers Gil Perron and Martin Perreault. They’ll bring forward the most elemental fantasy of all latex enthusiasts; that of being able to wear whatever one wants, whenever one wants as one goes about their daily life.
Combined with the creative input from renowned latex designer Mario Bouchard of Polymorphe and the sleek and cool touch of artistic director Steeve Henry from ChristalImagine & Produkt, each scene explodes with visual references to both “real life” and “fetish life”, bombarding the viewer with a sensory overload never before captured. Add to this a top notch hair, makeup and coordination team provided and managed by Pascal & Jérémie from P&J Concept and all the ingredients are there for a stunning and memorable project.
Gil Perron comes from the world of commercial photography, concentrating the bulk of his energies in the hair and cosmetics industries. Recently he has begun dabbling in the “glamour” and “erotica” aspect of the medium. Through the mentoring of Martin Perreault and with the unrelenting help and support of Mario Bouchard of Polymorphe Gil has quietly been able to develop and make his mark as a fetish photographer. “Latex is an attractive paradox to me; highly synthetic, yet completely symbiotic with the person that wears it. Never had I seen such an intimate relationship between fabric and body”. Although Gil continues to shoot regularly for his commercial client base, he has been devoting himself to the learning and understanding of how to capture and present latex as a mainstream garment. “I have long believed that Latexwear is not limited to one segment of the market and it’s my hope to introduce the fashion consumer to this product”.
Since his first years in photography, Martin Perreault’s body of work has been published in over 100 magazine issues, with over 35 magazine and book covers, notably Playboy, Maxim, Bizarre, Marquis, Skin Two, Penthouse, Italian A, just to mention a few. Apart from current top fetish model Bianca Beauchamp, Perreault has worked with acclaimed international glam & fetish models such as Julie Strain, Darenzia, Jean Bardot (Rubberella), Masuimi Max, Suzan Wayland, Emily Marilyn, and many more.
